Pin and pull
OffenseTechniqueOLCGTTE
What it is
Covered linemen pin the defenders inside while uncovered linemen pull around them to the perimeter.
Why it matters
Pin and pull is a hybrid: gap-scheme pullers with zone-scheme rules for who pulls, decided by who is covered. It gets an outside run to the edge faster than outside zone because the pullers are not fighting a reach, and it is the standard answer to a front whose alignment makes reach blocks impossible.
Also called
Programs call this pin and pull, pin pull or sweep rules. The Coach answers to any of them.
