What it is
Man across the board with no deep safety — every remaining defender rushes.
Why it matters
Cover 0 is a pressure call before it is a coverage call: the offense cannot block everyone, so someone comes free and the ball has to come out before the route wins. It is the most vulnerable call in football to a quick answer or a missed tackle, and the most punishing to a slow one. Coaches live with that trade on obvious passing downs and at the goal line, where the field is short enough that help over the top was never going to matter.
