Spill-and-force pairing
What it is
Any defender assigned to spill the ball outside must be paired with a defender assigned to force it back inside.
Why it matters
Spilling without a force player is the most common self-inflicted explosive run in high-school football: the spill does its job, the ball bounces outside, and nobody is there. The pairing is a coordinator-level check, not a player-level one - the player executing the spill cannot see whether his force is present.

Programs call this spill and force or force player. The Coach answers to any of them.
