Levels

OffenseSchemeQBWRTE

What it is

Two in-breaking routes at different depths in the same window, so a defender who takes one opens the other.

Why it matters

Levels is a high-low run inside rather than outside: a shallow in-cut at about five yards with a dig or square-in at twelve behind it. It is aimed at the hook defender and at any linebacker who is being asked to carry a vertical and also cover an in-cut, which is most of them.

Also called

Programs call this levels, in-cut levels or hi-lo the mike. The Coach answers to any of them.
