Quick game

OffenseSchemeQBWROL

What it is

Three-step timing throws released before the rush can matter — hitch, slant, out, now screen.

Why it matters

Quick game is the answer to pressure and to soft coverage at the same time, and it is protection by arithmetic rather than by blocking: the ball is gone before an unblocked rusher can arrive. It asks for a quarterback who will take the pre-snap answer instead of hunting for a better one, because the whole advantage evaporates on the second hitch.

Programs call this quick game, three-step, rhythm throws or now game. The Coach answers to any of them.
